Meet the Team

Support

Allison Peerson – Bachelors of Marketing Missouri University

Background: Allison was recruited to come to AvidMobile to be the primary liaison to our largest corporate accounts. Have questions about how to manage a franchisor with 1,100 locations and 375 different owners and she is your “Huckleberry”. With a background in lead generation, print marketing, and traditional media buying she has the right amount of knowledge of what real-world deployment of campaigns is really like. Once the mobile engagement piece was added to her repertoire, she is the quintessential mobile integrator across all channels… and isn’t bad to party with.

Hobbies etc: Alli Likes to hang out with her new Fiancé, her house full of animals, her friends, and chill out. She is one of the harder employees of AvidMobile to actually make fun of most likely because she is so darned perfect…. Well when she is actually on-time she is perfect.

Walter Fulbright – University of Missouri - Statistics / Economics

Background: The recipe for creating Walter (dictated exactly as he just made it up): Add equal parts customer service (in industries including telecommunications, railroading, real estate, and legal services), technical support (he's been the guy who fixed your work computer and made your Internet work), writer (including professional gigs providing baseball stat stuff), statistical analyst (see writer), and game designer (it's all number theory anyway), and you've got what he considers to be the utility infielder of the office. He's even been a bar bouncer and a professional wrestler. No, seriously.

Hobbies etc: Hobbies etc: Walter's interests include urban development and design (which help him to complain about Kansas City's bus service), indie rock music (local and beyond), movies (he's not quite pretentious enough to insist on calling them 'films', but close), number theory as it applies to sports (which help make him an irritating fantasy football opponent), and delicious hole-in-the-wall eateries. He almost certainly has some new obsession that he's bothering everyone about right now, but no need to list it: it changes far too frequently.

Payton Hatfield – Penn Valley Community College - Mechanical Engineering

Background: Payton has, in some ways, done it all: Restaurant Management, Retail Management, Advertising and Marketing Sales, etc., so he knows a lot of aspects of different kinds of businesses. He’s an Engineering School dropout, as well as an ex bass player for a punk band. He also, seriously, has a tramp stamp.

Hobbies etc: Hobbies etc: Being a dad to 5 kids, spending time with his fiancé, playing music and watching horrible movies. He also dabbles in getting awkward tattoos. When time permits (Read: never, anymore) he likes to go out to catch local music. He’s our office Sporting KC fan, as well.

Business Development

CEO – Rob Clifton – Bachelors of Arts in History – Sociology - Avila University

Background: Rob started into the technology marketing space by marketing his own companies on the web. The development of his own websites and later investments into technology combined with managing inside and outside sales teams brought him into the takeover of a third-party lead generation company. Running this company, managing the call-center, organizing and training the outside sales teams across the nation gave him an unmatched experience and ultimately led to the development of mobile marketing concepts that would later transform into a new entity, AvidMobile… Well, better luck next time Rob.

Hobbies etc: Rob’s biggest hobby, other than his 5 year old daughter Wrigley, is playing competitive softball. (Yes he plays in the same division as James and routinely tries to hit the ball at him in order to make up for an incident from a few years back… don’t ask).

James Hutson: Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology – University of Central Missouri

Background: James has spent years in the marketing departments of various companies working with the demand of managing sometimes hundreds of clients at a time. Head hunted from these other gigs because of his innate ability to pull in the big sales when there is a fit.

Hobbies etc: James is an avid competitive men’s slow-pitch softball player. You can see his team mobile website by texting HUTSON to 72727. James likes to tinker with older Mustangs, throw knuckleballs, hit the middle, and generally wear softball only apparel to the office. (Don’t believe me, have him send you a picture of what he has on today.)

Mark Corwin – Bachelor of Science in Education – University of Central Missouri

Background: Mark has done a little bit of everything which brings the kind of experience needed to be successful at any marketing program that actually produces results. Mark has experience as a secondary education instructor, athletic director, owned his own restaurant for 4 years, ran golf courses, and hunting clubs, including the recruitment of new members, business development, and running marketing programs. Don’t let his expertise fool you though, he can confuse you as quickly as the next guy.

Hobbies etc: Mark likes to watch his son Jay play baseball, (yes he is a division 1 baseball prospect that is 6’7 and most likely not Mark’s at all… don’t tell him), hang out with his other children, occasionally see his wife, and most of all work. Although he used to golf and fish all the time, now sitting in my office laments, “Who has time for that?”.

Lisa Schuster - Bachelor of Fine Arts - University of Missouri

Background: Lisa has over 12 years combined work experience in marketing, sales, management, business development, product design, manufacturing and product placement. This is a fancy way of saying that she has run her own businesses as well as worked in quite a few different types of industries. She successfully co-founded the start-up company, Hunter Industries LLC, a manufacturer of a new and revolutionary wood stain applicator. She also is a self-proclaimed innovative strategist who was able to successfully identify, launch, and manage a new product in an already established market.

Hobbies etc: They call her the SMS Cowgirl. She sold SMS back in 2009 in the infancy of the text mobile arena (this industry specific experience can tell you what it is like in the "Real World"). She loves to travel (especially to the beach), go fishing (she once set the state record for smallmouth bass), snorkeling, and tip the proverbial marguerite. She has 3 wonderful kids & 2 adorable shit tzu’s (adorable is in the eye of the beholder). Loves hanging with friends and family, listening to music, and loves the warm summer months when you can hang out and chill outside with an ice cold beverage!!!

Matt Grizzell

Background: Matt has a plethora of skills including Ninja skills, Mountain-man skills, Assassin skills, and in his words, "Extensive sales skills". Guess we will see if he actually closes anyone... His background includes retail mobile marketing sales, Copper-distribution, supply-chain services, and business development for a variety of businesses.

Hobbies etc: Grizz is what Matt more often goes by on the softball field, also likes to Fish, Write, and Play Music. (This comes as a huge surprise to us because I didn’t know people that liked to write or play music also used smokeless tabacco... makes no sense). Other interests include chilling with the old lady and their Yorkie, Sydney (Don’t judge him as many people have these designer dogs), and killing time in front of the xbox.

Kris Saegers

Background: Kris has been in business development for more than 15 years and has sold a variety of quality products and services, more importantly over the past 5 years websites and online marketing. His experience in selling web marketing services parallels what can be done in the mobile world and provided a lot of the intangibles necessary to understand our world of integrated mobile engagements.

Hobbies etc: Interestingly enough Kris got ran over by a truck inside of a 7 -11 in 2009 in San Diego (here is the link) He had been living there since 2001 and had originally moved from Kansas. Shortly after San Diego began trying to kill him, he decided it might be safer to move back to the mid-west and thus the later marriage of himself and AvidMobile.

Kris likes Football, Basketball, baseball, everything else (in that order). He likes to cook and BBQ, although never invites a single person from the office! Fishing and Camping are at the top of his list as well and in his exact words, "Family is important too." Real convincing Kris!

Developers, Designers, and Programmers

CTO – Andrew Blackmore - Bachelors in Computer Science and Computer Engineering – Missouri University of Science and Technology

Background: Andy’s experience dates all the way back to when he began programming at the age of 8 in Basic and comes by it honestly as his father was a programmer who created many programs from scratch including a board game in Basic that Andy later developed into an even better version in the later years with Visual Basic. Some of his more recent programming conquests include creating elaborate systems to manage work orders, PO’s, and quotes for a national manufacturing company that does business with 3 of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies, and building a calculator from scratch, to the development and architecture of most of AvidMobile’s technology.

Hobbies etc: Andy likes to play tennis, even plays with some people from the office from time to time although he is better than us. His DJing skills are improving although his taste in music is not.. (I am going to blame this solely on the proximity of his seating to Richard and his crappy music). Other things he likes to do is chill with Zac and maybe catch a movie (most likely Sci Fi).

Travis Miller – Software Engineer & UI/UX Designer – Broadmoor Technical Center

Background: Travis has been dabbling in web development since the tender age of 12 (back when AOL webpages were all the rage). He’s worked extensively on a custom home-made and designed online baseball simulator that has had over 6,000 registered users and is ongoing. In working with Sprint he created and managed a database program that updated and maintained a schedule for print directories for Time-Warner Cable. His unique eye for what looks good on a web-page cannot be denied, and you might even find little bits of humor he installed on our current website…. (It is ok, we didn’t laugh either)

Hobbies etc: Travis likes to spend his free time video game programming, sitting in townie bars, meeting his friends for their weekly $7 pitchers and $3 burgers on Wednesdays, and generally has an unhealthy interest in dinosaurs for a man of his age.

Corbin Schwalm - Intern - University of Wisconsin - Madison

Background: From running his own personal online gaming program where he sells paid subscriptions to coding his own personal projects, Corbin has been an asset to AvidMobile for more than 2 years. His specialization is developing custom website for our clients, secure payment programs, building plugins to the application itself, database work, going to Chipotle, and being made fun of for his silly laugh.

Hobbies etc: Corbin is on the University of Wisconsin Equestrian team, which took 7th at Nationals this year. (Yes we know only 7 schools actually participate in this event, but he wanted this in his profile, so who am I to argue). He likes to watch South Park in the office, yet outside the office takes part in much more sophisticated behaviors such as playing racquetball, rock-climbing, and generally trying hard not to get arrested.

Jim Wheeler – Software Engineer - School of Hard Knox

Background: Jim developed for his own company for 14 years from Chicago area and then moved to Missouri to get away from the balmy Chicago weather. Little did he know that Missouri isn’t the south and there is still snow. His company continued for a period of time and finally decided to make the move over to AvidMobile for 2013! We don’t know enough about him at this time to be unhappy with his decision.

Hobbies etc: Jim likes to read, watch tv (*mainly Sci-fi movies), and fantisize… perhaps I am reading his bio wrong and he actually said he likes fantacy and sci-fi movies, but we will just go with this! Not surprisingly, this techie dreams of coding and also plays a little World of Warcraft. Jim has a wonderful 4 year old that he obviously loves to hang out with and play!

Timothy Gaull - UI/UX Designer

Background: Creative Strategist, and lover of life. *Notice no one else on the team actually gets a one liner to start their bio...

Tim grew up right here in the lovely Mid-west, yet eventually heeded the advice of a terrific coach in high school to “Go East Young Man”. I know that’s usually said about the west, but he says he will get there eventually. With that advice he found himself studying architecture in Boston while working as a junior graphics and marketing creative for a couple of really cool architecture firms (It was insanely fun and such a growth experience). He ended up in Morocco somehow, initially for ten days, but later lived there for six months and continues to go back and visit from time to time

Hobbies etc: Some of the things that get his juices flowing are design, faith, swimming, adventuring around the world, seeing and experiencing nature, exploring new cultures and new cities, understanding or not understanding people, enjoying life, and oh, learning about how to live gluten free. (I know… designers are always the gluten free people while the rest of us suck down hot dogs and roast beef sandwiches from the deli downstairs all day!)

Julie Bennett - Graphic Design & Wordpress Developer - BFA University of Missouri

Background: Although she grew up living in the shadow (literally) of her 6’8 brother, she has blossomed into quite the good looking web designer, Wordpress Developer, CSS Mastermind, and AvidMobile employee. Her artistic way of thinking has always made her stand out as she has done personal projects like family Christmas cards all the way to working professionally as a graphic designer and came to us highly recommended. Although Julie is a bit of a looker, she is a nerd at heart and helps our clients knock out tough projects quickly and professionally. No wonder she was accepted into the Graphic Design program at MU so quickly!

Hobbies etc: Julie's current boyfriend Austin says that their entire relationship revolves around food, primarily Pizza. She likes Zombie movies, traveling and studying abroad, used to ride and show horses (Quarter horses and Throuroughbreds I am told), and loves her Sheltie puppy Memphis who was just in my lap!

Operations and Accounting

COO - Richard Clifton – Missouri University of Science and Technology – Engineering Management

Background: Richard began running Real Estate and Technology companies immediately upon leaving school back in 2007, and has never stopped. He was the chief Architectural Engineer for a third-party internet lead generation company, and naturally has been the primary technology architect for the majority of the AvidMobile platform. His specialization is in budget analytics, lead generation tactics, user experience, and minors in sales techniques. (We let him attend the sales meetings and put in his 2 cents)

Hobbies etc: Richard’s interests are most generally centralized around eating anything that happens to be within reach, regardless of who's food it might be. When not gorging himself on whatever is in the office fridge, he enjoys working out, showing off his guns (his arms), “Plenty of Fish”ing, doing shots, and is pretty much eclectic in all of his tastes. (this means that he pretty much likes a lot of crap that the general public does not). His motto: “I don’t remember”.

Stefanie Johnston – Accounting Generalist - Missouri State University – Bachelor of Science – Education/Business

Background: Stefanie was a full-time secondary Business and Technology teacher, Accounting being one of the business classes. One of her teaching experiences teaching summer school at Kickapoo High School, where Brad Pitt attended High School (7 degrees of separation, I think so). Before teaching full-time, she substitute taught, supervised at retail stores, and was a secretary all while being a full-time student. Her educational background and work experience are a nice fit for her position at AvidMobile as the comptroller and office mom (she takes care of all of us and our scanning, printing, phone issues, faxing, and other personal stuff). Stefanie is pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting. Have a Billing question? You might shoot her an email and ask, she is super sweet.

Hobbies etc: When not being office mom and making delicious snacks for all of us (Please bring back the Raspberry Coconut Cupcakes); Stefanie likes to sew, run 5k races, competitive puzzling with her brother and sister, spend time organizing meetings for her book club (which she is the President and never finishes reading the books), fill-in as a substitute for recreational sports, starring in commercials, (see the video at about 12 seconds. We don’t know why her acting career hasn’t taken off, possibly due to the blinking. *There are also some cameo’s by Zac and Andrew. This was filmed inside the AvidMobile office space).

Cinzia Becera – Administrative Assistant

Background: Cici has extensive experience in Data Entry, Data Analysis and Accounting. Basically she's done just about any kind of office work you can think of. Her experience ranges from working for Fortune 500 companies to running the office for the local plumber.

Hobbies etc: When not in the office Cici likes to spend her time going to the movies, shopping, hitting the gym and hanging out with friends. Be sure and ask her where the good Mexican restaurants are, as apparently the rest of us don't have a clue.
